band. Originally the band was constituted by Davide Galletti (bass & vocals),

Fabrizio Bonanno (lead guitar),Danilo Greppi (rythm guitar) and Maurizio

de Palo (drums) and played covers from Metal Church, Megadeth, Sepultura,

etc.......,and was however oriented to trash metal sound. The first concert

of the band was in Loano (Friendly '94).

The positive results persuaded Wounded Knee to proceed and develop

an own musical and thematic speech based in part on Red Indians (by whom

was drawn the name "Wounded Knee", a place in US where in 1890 Yankee

did a massacre) and to play some livedates.

At the end of Summer '95 Danilo Greppi left the band, he was replaced by

Filippo Cantarella (keyboards & violin) and Daniele Carboni (vocals) joined

Wounded Knee.

The insertion of the two new members lead to a stilistic change,and the

band started to compose more melodic and involved songs, propounding

a stile between heavy metal and '70s rock progressive. During Winter

'95-'96 was recorded the demotape " Ghost Dance ", which obtained

good reviews from specialized press.

Pick Up Records noted the band and proposed the four-years contract

wich permised Wounded Knee during Summer '96 to record the first

CD at Lab Studios (Cascina-Pisa). The CD is distibuited in Italy by

99^th Floor and very soon will be distribuited in Germany and Japan too.

In Winter '97 Daniele Carboni is substituted by Paolo Ferrarese.
